Hiking at Rock Canyon
This picture was for Grandma Cindy's benefit. We just have to give her heart a little jumpstart every now and then. This is a little climbing area just a quarter mile or so from the car, next time we want to bring a little picnic and climb with the kids (as soon as you're up for it, Katie!)
These are some happy cousins! Benji was a little bit nervous about all this arm-lifting while sitting on top of a big rock. His favorites are the rocks you can throw. For some reason, he particularly likes chucking them into bushes.

We had such a great time trick or treating with cousins and getting so much candy!! Ellie and Ben cried a few time during the night because they were scared of mask, but overall it was a great night

Have a good Day!!
So I have been meaing to post forever, but time seems to go too fast after the kids get to bed at night. We have lots of new updates- I will put up pics of all these things later. First, Dan got his braces off. Yeah, he looks great!! He now has to wear a retainer for a long time. Then Ellie gave up her binki about a month ago. If you have spent any time around her you know she used it every night to go to sleep. We told her she was going to have to get braces like Daddy if she didn't give it up...she hasn't' asked for it since. We are so proud of her, she is growing up way too fast. Speaking of binki's....no one in our family uses one-Shocking I know. Maggie has started sucking her thumb and Ben has always preferred the thumb. Another piece of BIG news is that Ben is officially potty trained. Yippee!!! He has not had an accident in about a week and he love wearing underwear. This news is great except for at church. When Dan is sitting on the stand Ben has figured out that he only has to yell pee pee and I will run him out (usually passing Maggie to someone and Ellie runs behind me). Last week he said pee pee at least 5 times before I told he we were not going out again. We love that boy and his huge grin. Last but now least, we are coming home. We have our date, I think. We are leaving here July 10th, just two months left. I will be so excited to get home, but I am grateful for our time here.

Birthday boy
Sheri wanted to make Benji's birthday special by designing a custom cake. She considered the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, and a fully functioning laptop cake. While her mock-ups were pretty impressive, she finally came up with something truly magnificent to dazzle the birthday boy. A soccer ball! Sheri only had a ziploc bag, frosting, and a dash of food coloring. Magnificent results! But most importantly, the birthday boy loved it.

Maggie discovered her thumb and now she won't take a binki

Happy Birthday Benji
Our sweet baby Benji turned 2 a few weeks ago. If you ask him how old he is he grins and says two. If you ask him the first letter of his name, he grins and says two. Then you say LETTER Benji and he smiles and says B. We love our little boy and it seems like only yesterday he came into our family. He has so much love to give. He shares all of his toys with Ellie and if Maggie is ever sad he says mooch and then kisses her. He is also rather independent, and he will scream "own" if he wants to do something by himself. We love him so much. Happy Birthday big man.

We had a few friends over for cake and ice cream and after we sang he blew out the candles all by himself!

Ben loves books and wants us to read these new ones every day. The books have animals so he can practice his moos and cockadoodledoos, what more could a birthday boy want?

They were screaming to try the bubble-maker, so Dan let them try it inside. They'd shoot out a thousand bubbles then Ben would stamp on them one by one and laugh. We had to put it on a high shelf to rein them in, but every time they see it they plead to go outside and try it. Ben still hasn't quite figured out the handle and shoots himself in the eye half the time, but you still can't get it out of his hands. Remind us to wait a while before buying him a b-b gun.

The blue stretchy, sticky worm was an instant favorite. He wanted to yank and pull it, and looked on with disgusted fascination as Sheri helped him stretch it to the limit. He also got 20 other worms, frogs, snakes, and rubber bugs. He can't get enough of them, but they're a little too realistic and keep creeping Sheri out when he leaves one under the couch.
Benji loves Mr. Potatoe head. Every morning he wakes up and sees it and yells "Tato Head, Tato Head!" until we get it down for him to play with. He puts on a serious face and starts plugging pieces into Mr. Potato Head, and once he has him all assembled, often with the nose in an ear slot, he raises his hands in triumph over his head, puts on his biggest grin, and yells "Did it!"
Thanks G Grandma Polson, Grandma & Grandpa Condie, Grandma Cindy, Grandpa Walt, and Jaymie. Benji loved his gifts and we felt loved and supported by family even though we are so far away

Laying on the sidewalk
So we went outside the other day and Maggie was being really fussy. She doesn't really like the stroller or baby bjorn so I was holding her and playing ball with the other kids. My back was getting really tired and Ben really wanted to roller skate, so I made Maggie a little bed on the ground. Abusive? She seemed to really like it.

Could you resist this face?

FOOD!!!
We love to eat. Every morning when I get Benji out of his crib he yells omeal (oatmeal)...you would think he might be starving with how desperate he sounds. Dan makes the oatmeal and he can't get it in fast enough. I made them a smoothie as well and they were loving it. And Maggie, well I just can't get enough of her adorable chubby cheeks, she has to eat really often to keep them so big.

St Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day a bit late. We had a great day wearing green and eating green food. When I told Ellie that you had to wear green she said that she would prefer is we would all wear pink instead. I told her that is not how it works. She said how about we could all wear pink on her birthday, I said OK so everyone get ready to have a big pink party in October.
We had a few friends over to eat green food with us. We did not dye anything green, we just ate taco's and I made green taco shells. And we had cucumbers, green peppers (cut like shamrocks), green Jello, pears, apples and grapes (all the green variety), green plates, cups, juice, and napkins. It was so much fun. I didn't get a shot of the dinner, but here are the kids in their different colors of green. It was really hard to get all 3 looking at me at the same time. I can't believe I have 3 kids. :)

Tag, Your're It
I was tagged by my sister-in-law Katie forever ago but as things go I never got around to it, but I am doing it now............here goes 25 random things about me that you may not know.
1. I love to bake! I cook treats, cookies, bread, etc. almost twice a week.
2. I am scared of spiders, I mean I really hate those little things they creep me out, and no I have never seen Arachnophobia. I watched Charlotte's Web today and even Charlotte creeps me out.
3. I think that I married the best man in the world..........so I guess that means that all your husbands are sub-par. Sorry.
4. I love Mexican food
5. I worked at the Men's Dept of the BYU bookstore while I was going to school, my nickname was Sassy (my boss even got me a new name tag).
6. I went to Accelerated Learning Elementary school (My family calls it smart school).
7. My family calls me the weakest link, in fact my in-laws also call me that but I can pretty much do anything I have to. I have lived in Ukraine and Jerusalem, and I am the only one of my sisters to give birth naturally.
8. I love candy and treats............and more treats and chocolate.
9. I don't really like any bands or music groups, actually I don't like anything if it plays too long. Too much noise.
10. I am not very good at sharing things about myself, I like to keep things to myself. The only reason I am giving so much info about myself now is because Dan is sitting right here. He will share anything.
11. I got sunburned so bad one time that my face ballooned up and my eyes were little slits. My family called me elephant face.
12. I want to have a big family, I don't know how many big is though.
13. I love to laugh and I am usually in a good mood, and if I am not you can cheer me up pretty easily.
14. My arm, leg, head and one of my teeth were all broken in separate incidences by siblings before I was 4.
15. I have never been pulled over.
16. I taught at the MTC and was hoping to meet the man of my dreams in the process, but no such luck. (not a missionary, another teacher)
17. Because we live overseas I have had to breastfead in a lot of crazy places (and yes I felt embarassed the first fifty time) including the Vatican, the Coliseum, and the Pantheon in Rome; hiking in the Alps and the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany; in various parking lots, airports, bathrooms and churches/cathedrals; just about every historic, religious, and archaelogical site in Jerusalem, and all over Ukraine.
18. I have seen some wierd bathrooms. Ukraine had its fair share of squatters (and I will admit I got the bottom of my pants wet numerous time), but the one that takes the cake was in Jordan. A gracious Jordanian man let me use the bathroom in his humble home on a road trip in the middle of the burning desert - but I had to walk through a bleating herd of sheep coralled in front of the bathroom. I was wearing flip-flops. It was messy.
19. I served a mission in British Columbia.
20. I have never taken a foreign language in school.
21. I was in a beauty pageant when I was 17 years old. The Miss Strawberry Days Pageant in Pleasant Grove. I lost. No really. If they announced last place, it would have been me.
22. I was Snow White in the third grade play. I was supposed to scream when I was lost in the forest, but I had a weak scream. They called in another student to scream for me. I had to lip-sync a scream. You might think that weakest link nickname is valid after reading that comment.
23. I'm not very good at anything that attaches to my feet and moves (ice skating, skiing, roller-blading . . . not my favorites).
24. I believe that I have been blessed more than anyone I know.
25. I love being a mom, it makes me so happy.

Puzzler
This is a picture of Ellie doing her favorite thing, puzzles. She can entertain herself with puzzles for at least 30 or 40 minutes. She also loves to imagine things and play make-believe. Lately she has been pretending she is going on an airplane flight. She has her suitcase all packed and ready to go. She is always flying to America (we all miss America).... Sometime she is going to see cousins but more often she is going to Grandma Cindy's.
