We took these pictures on New Year's Eve at Independence Square in Kiev, where the Orange Revolution demonstrations took place. The square is toward the end of Kreschatyk, the main street in town, which is closed to traffic every weekend.
We heard that this is the tallest Christmas tree in the world. And, just imagine, if you had the luxury of living in Ukraine, you could have seen it too..... truth be known, it was not a live tree, but a massive metal skeleton supporting greenery and decorations. It was still beautiful.
This road is ofen packed with cars during the week, but on Saturdays Sheri likes strutting her stuff down the middle of the street. This gives you a pretty good view of the center of town. We would have liked to show off Ellie, but it was a bit cold and she was asleep in her stroller just trying to keep warm.
This is Dan looking quite HOT in Ukraine, although he does seem to fit in a little too well with all the strangers walking around in festive costumes.
We couldn't pass up a photo op with this massive hairy beast!!!!! It took a lot of coaxing from Dan to get me on.
I was scared to touch Ellie after riding on the camel; the stench alone assured me that it had to be infested with some wierd critters or disease. I am still glad I didn't wimp out and miss out on the ride.
